Sarah Machicado is a UX/UI designer creating playful, accessible, socially impactful experiences for people to feel joy, comfort, and confidence. With over six years of experience in Visual Design and Brand Design, she transitioned into UX because she is interested in high-level design thinking and strives to make a meaningful impact and improve people's lives through design. Sarah is currently at the end of a creative sabbatical, where she took a break to explore new ideas, pursue new passions and improve her technical skills.
Sarah is a former Interactive Visual Designer at Magic Leap, a spatial computing tech company, where she solved complex visual design challenges, designed user interfaces, system icons, and branded emojis for immersive technology. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012 with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. She began her career as a niche brand designer for the children's toys and products market, focusing on incorporating play and sustainable packaging into her work.
In the future, Sarah wants to focus on how technology can improve the lives of young people through engaging learning experiences. She is passionate about creative learning and design for kids.
